COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PREVENTION

The focus of the Queen Anne's County Department of Health Communicable Disease Program is to protect and promote the health of Queen Anne's County residents through its efforts to limit the spread and effects of infectious disease for individuals and the community.

Services include:

Adult/childhood immunizations

    • Influenza
    • Pneumonia
    • Shingles
    • Meningococcal
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria
    • Tetanus /Diphtheria/Pertussis(whooping cough)
    • Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis
    • Hepatitis A
    • Hepatitis B
    • Polio
    • Measles/Mumps/Rubella
    • Varicella (chicken pox)
    • Rotavirus
    • Haemophilus influenzae type B
    • Human papillomavirus vaccine
    • Human Rabies vaccine
    •  

  • Tuberculosis screening

  • Tuberculosis treatment

  • Sexually transmitted disease clinic – patients seen by appointment

  • HIV counseling and testing

  • Case management/client advisory services for people with HIV/AIDS

  • Reportable disease surveillance and investigation/management of outbreaks
