ADULT DAY MEDICAL
SERVICES
In a family-like atmosphere nursing care, social services,
therapeutic recreation, meals, and transportation are provided to
medically fragile persons over the age of 16.
What is an adult day medical center?
It is a daytime health
care facility that has a homelike atmosphere. Each participant is
cared for by qualified and experienced nurses, social workers,
activity therapists, and nursing assistants. Our professional team
consults with clients and care givers to design personalized plans
of care to optimize the quality of each participants life. All care
plans nurture strengths and build assets to enhance self-help. Each
plan receives approval from the participant's physician.
Who
sponsors the program?
The Queen Anne's
County Department of Health sponsors the center. They also employ
the professionals who staff the facility. Maryland's Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene licenses the Kent
Island location.
When is the center open?
The center is open
Monday - Friday from 7:30 to 4:00 pm, except on legal holidays.
How
much does it cost?
Fees are determined on
an individual basis through income verification. Long-term care
insurance, Medicaid and veteran's benefits will occasionally pay for
the program. Call the center to schedule a free trial visit.
